It’s always a mystery: what we need to buy to eat this week will help us be healthier and still be satisfied with the variety of foods and beverages that are delicious based on plants. Whether we choose herbal products to help boost our immune systems, prevent illness, have more energy (and sleep better), shed a few pounds, or be greener. Whatever your motivation, everyone wants to know what to buy in the growing herbal product category that is better for us and the planet? We found 8 new products that are plant-based and vegan. Lucy Danziger’s favorites

1. Barilla ProtienPLUS, high protein pasta. Vegetable protein, fiber and omega-3

I’m a self-described rocket hunted for carbohydrates, and for me, these beneficial noodles contain all of the health-related nutrients I need for a guilt free, healthy pasta dinner! This classic-tasting pasta is made from protein from lentils, chickpeas and peas and provides 17 grams of protein and 7 grams of fiber. It is an excellent source of essential omega-3 ALA fatty acids from flaxseed. It’s the closest thing to guilt-free pasta and tastes like the kind you grew up with.

When you pair them with a spicy or spicy puttanesca sauce made from tomatoes, kalamata olives, onions, garlic, paprika, and chilli flakes, you get a clean-tasting meal that provides the noodles’ strong antioxidants and protein. 2. Aloha Coconut Chocolate Almond organic protein bar with vegetable protein

For simple cooking, I just love Milkadamia’s pure macadamia oil spray, which has the “highest content of healthy monounsaturated fat and the lowest percentage of inflammatory omega 6 of any nut or seed oil”. While the original spray is perfect for cooking anything in the oven on a sheet pan without adding flavor, I especially love the Oh Mommy variety, which gives everything a delicious umami flavor.

This product is as easy as spraying my pan and then putting down my pressed tofu pieces for a crispy, non-stick cook. 2. The Veggie Doctor QWELL Vegan Algae Omega 3 Supplement

Although you should always consult your doctor before adding a new supplement to your diet, this vegan omega-3 supplement fits my diet perfectly. There are many vegan sources of omega-3 fatty acids such as chia seeds, hemp seeds, walnuts, and more. 2. Ezekiel Bread for Life

It’s safe to say that I eat avocado toast at least 8 times a week. I like the taste of the creamy pepper flake spread on crispy, crunchy toast. The only ingredient that completes my favorite food is the specific bread I use, Ezekiel bread. I keep a loaf of bread in my freezer, let it thaw, and put it in the toaster for about 40 seconds.

This type of sprouted bread is made from whole grains and legumes, which gives my toast the perfect crips texture and doesn’t taste like a cake like most breads do. My afternoon coffee turned into an afternoon smoothie thanks to Vegas Spring in Your Step smoothie. The mixer-free smoothie is filled with protein and caffeine to give me a boost of energy that I can use for the rest of the day. 1. Laird Super-Food liquid vanilla creamer

Laird’s Super-Food Liquid Vanilla Coffee Creamer was my greatest asset after I decided it was probably time to give up my $ 7 daily matcha latte habit. Initially, I switched from my usual filter coffee to a matcha in the morning so I could still caffeinate in the early afternoon with no jitter and an inevitable crash. After calculating exactly how much I was spending on lattes each month, and after some experts failed to replicate my matcha latte order at home – almond milk with a little custard – I knew I had to find a DIY way to caffeinate . Pond Coffee, New Orleans

My editor’s favorite of the week is a New Orleans plant-based coffee spot that no longer used oat milk as an alternative and made it a unique option. Pond Coffee is a pop-up currently operating in the Small Mart on Chartres Street. Pond sells espresso drinks with a frothed oat milk and recently dumped all dairy products from its menu. The café offers a variety of coffee beans and shows them to all coffee lovers who want to take more of their coffee specialties home with them. The oat-based espresso bar offers a selection of favorite drinks, from cortado to lattes. Now you can order a coffee without asking for a herbal substitute. Anyone walking the neighborhood selling espresso from their street window can stop by to have their favorite espresso, buy a bag of coffee, or meet the friendly baristas behind this pop-up.
